Entrepreneurial Development Program

Entrepreneurial Development Program

Innovation York is offering a 6 month Entrepreneurial Development Program opportunity for students who are enrolled in courses with the School of Continuing Studies at York University to complement and enhance existing certificate programs. The program is designed to help students explore those entrepreneurial ideas that have been brewing in the back of their minds or explore the world of entrepreneurship as a possible career path. With our three-phased approach, this program will help students validate their business concept, learn key entrepreneurship theories, and receive valuable coaching support.

Our goal is to empower you to gain the confidence and validation needed to launch their ventures. By providing a unique educational and mentorship-based platform and creating a community of like-minded self-starters, we are providing an opportunity for continuing studies students to overcome the barriers of starting a business.

Application Deadline: November 15th at 11:59 pm.

Entrepreneurship Program Components

Often times, many of us have business ideas percolating in the back of our minds but we just don't know how to quickly validate or identify the best opportunity for success.  Innovation York has designed two workshop sprints providing a path for you to identify, validate, and build the foundation needed to get your business started.

Starting a business is difficult and there are a variety of essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed. Spanning across topics such as marketing, accounting, legal and much more. There are a variety of free resources on our YouTube Channel as well as live sessions that will be organized throughout the semester.

Once you've completed the sprints, Innovation York's entrepreneurship team will meet with you for 45-minute coaching sessions to provide initial feedback on the business. These sessions will also be used to discuss specific business challenges and identify potential solutions and it will take place bi-weekly over the next 6 months.
