Commercializing University Research - The Rise of Robot Doctors?

Presenter: Dr. Farnoud Kazemzadeh
Co-founder and CEO, Elucid Labs
Farnoud is the co-founder and CEO of Elucid Labs, a medical technology company that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence and computational imaging for various applications in medicine. Elucid Labs’ primary product is AIDA, an augmented intelligence imaging solution for early detection and diagnosis of skin cancer. Elucid Labs, which was founded in Dec 2016, was named by CIX as one of Canada's top 20 most innovative companies.

Farnoud received his B.Sc. in astronomy and astrophysics from the University of Waterloo, he then went on to do his M.Sc. in space sciences at the International Space University in France. He then pursued his M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in optical engineering from the University of Waterloo. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo
